Handwoven . Empowering Women Artisans.
Maka Maka collaborates with communities of Women Artisans to design and develop a collection of handwoven cotton/linen pillow covers. The Naga women of India have been weaving textiles for many generations. Mostly a farming community, they draw inspiration for their design motifs from nature. They use back strap looms and natural dyed yarns to weave their textiles.
Our collection combines their unique weaving techniques with our love for geometric shapes.
Kantha embroidery has been a part of the craft heritage of rural Bengal, India. To showcase this beautiful and intricately hand embroidered craft, we collaborate with a community of Kantha Artisans to create contemporary designs for our pillow collection.
MOQ - 4 in each design and size.
